My brother recently had his y-dna tested and it appears Hobbs is not our genetic surname. From what I have it appears we could be either from the Mizelle and it's variations line or Byrnes line. I am looking for any situation where maybe a Hobbs man raised children that were either Mizelle or Brynes and gave the children his surname Hobbs.
