This William Burn (my ggf), the one in the 9th Lancers, was born in Whitby in 1854 and died in 1941. From the other items I've put on the board, you'll see that he was injured in Afghanistan (nothing changes) in 1879. Give me some details of the possible link and I'll dig out what I have to explore the connection. I have a pic taken around 1940 showing WB and one of his former colleagues in the army.
