Author: seanedw23 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.burn/163/mb.ashx Message Board Post: hi all .. looking to trace mary ann burns who married alexander scott in 1851. her father was called james burns and proffession was papermaker.i can trace her back to 1861 census where her mother mary (widowed) is living with her, but unable to trace the burns back any further...mary ann burns supposedly had a sister called elizabeth who married a john sinclair.they also had a son called john. both sisters married seaman and marys twins (alexander and elizabeth r) were baptised on the same day as their cousin elizabeths child john. apparently elizabeth middle intial (R) is for robinson so i dont know if that was their mother marys maiden name.i have looked but unsure where their father or mother was born as on the census record it says durham but carnt find the record of their marriage any where. hope somebody can help regards sean Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
