Hi, I've just joined this list, am trying to find more details of my great grandfather, John Burn, who was born c.1849 in Sunderland, Durham County, England. He migrated to Lyttelton, New Zealand in about 1879, but I don't have the exact date, or the ship he travelled on. He married his first wife (name unknown) in 1889 in Melbourne Australia, unfortunately she passed away 4/4/1892. John remarried 14/6/1899 to Emily Eliza Davies, & after 3 children, later did 3/5/1926 after a short illness. Does anyone have any records of this John Burn? I've searched the shipping links on Rootsweb, but so far cannot find any details of what ship he may have come out on from England. Thanks, Colin Townsend Sydney, Australia
