Jenny Did your Cave family originate in the Gillingham area of Dorset? My husband's Cave ancestor was Joseph. Have you had contact with the Cave Family History Society. They have mountains of info on the Cave family and may be able to slot you right into one of the branches. I have not done much research recently having spent most of last year in France and this year dealing with health issues but am still most interested. I have not made any progress at all on the Burn front. Jean Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He migrated to Lyttelton, New Zealand in about 1879, but I don't have the exact date, or the ship he travelled on. He married his first wife (name unknown) in 1889 in Melbourne Australia, unfortunately she passed away 4/4/1892. John remarried 14/6/1899 to Emily Eliza Davies, & after 3 children, later did 3/5/1926 after a short illness. Does anyone have any records of this John Burn? I've searched the shipping links on Rootsweb, but so far cannot find any details of what ship he may have come out on from England.
