The family farmed in Cuddliptown, Devon with sister Jane Burn Friend living next door to the Millman family with Jane and Mary Ann's father John. (Jane Burn married John Friend 1/4 quarter 1857 Tavistock) Brother's William and John Burn's families reported on the same page of the 1851 census returns. I have other misc. pieces of information on these families. But does anyone know what the connection of the Jane Pengelly b.1812 Tavistock who is staying with Mary Ann Burn Millman for one census return and Jane Burn Friend for another. The Pengelly name keeps cropping up during census returns with my Millman line but I have yet to find a connection if there is one? I did try to follow Jane Pengelly and established that she had a brother Thomas Pengelly b.1816 Tavistock who was an innkeeper in Lower Market St, Tavistock. during the 1851 census. Would be welcome to share notes. Thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My mum has traced it back and tied it in with the Cave Society tree. They go to the meeting every year. I traced my grandmother back through the female line via the names Symes and Goff. She was curious about where a Gertrude Burn, second cousin who lived in London, fitted in. It was by doing this that I found William Burn, schoolmaster in Newport Pagnell in 1851 and born in 1789 in Kingston, Hants (sorry not Winchester, I got a bit confused there) Not sure if any of this helps!
