Hello! You didn't give your name--- The only connection with your George Burn and my ancestor would be before 1804. That's when Absalom Burn first appeared in our family history with no clue as to whence he came. I am interested in knowing there was a Burn family in Sudbury Durham, but that would not help you! I hope you find your link, and if you find an Absalom Burn, I would be immensely grateful! susanne dabney USA 770 457-0815 susanned99@aol.com

Dear Charlotte and all you other fine folks, Okay, here's the BURN I'm looking for: Anne BURN, wife of Charles HARRISON and mother of John Burn HARRISON. All I know about her is her listing as mother for the christening of John on 24 Apr 1827 at St James Church, Westminster, London. This was a 'late' christening, as his DOB was 12 Dec 1823 (also shown on the christening record). I haven't found any other mention of those people in the St James church records, or anywhere else. So, does anyone have an extra Anne BURN kicking around London at that time? Best wishes, ...Alex Julius Alexander Luck Lamoine, Maine, USA jaluck@optonline.net juliusluck@netscape.net <http://luckfamily.8m.com/alex.htm>; My LUCK family genealogy site! Hi Wendy I'm descended from the Burn family in Devon, not known to me at any point linked with Burns from the north, but I am interested in the place name 'Simonburn' - I have been trying to trace the name and history of a 'Simon Burn', a man transported to Australia in the 1780's, guilty of highway robbery, who I believed to be from Devon. Maybe I was wrong ? Anybody up north know of this person ? I might add that I have a son Simon Burn who lives in Canada, who would also be interested in his namesake !
