Berkheiser, 66, of 1102 Fairmont Ave., Pottsville, died Monday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late John and Lorraine Stoudt Mohl. She was a 1953 graduate of Pottsville High School. She was a lunch aide supervisor for John S. Clarke Elementary Center, Pottsville, where she worked for many years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger L. Sr., in 1985; a sister, Jacqueline Mohl. Surviving are two sons, Roger, Pottsville, and James, Schuylkill Haven; five daughters, Donna Berkheiser and Karen Corby, both of Pottsville, Susan Honicker, Saint Clair, Lorraine Scinto, Palo Alto, Shirley A. Brennan, Cressona; two sisters, Phyllis Soellner, Pottsville, and Audrey Wertz, Tremont; five brothers, John Mohl Jr., Martin Mohl, Curtis Mohl, Richard Mohl, all of Pottsville, and Dennis Mohl, Cressona; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from Auman Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. At the time of the 1870 Census, she was living at home. On 12 Nov 1873 when Amelia (Emilie/Emilia) was 23, she married William Snyder, in Miami Co., IN. She was to the daughter of Johannes (John) Berkheiser. Born on 28 Dec 1821 in S. Manheim TWP, Schuylkill Co., PA. Johannes (John) was baptized in St. Paul's Church, South Manheim TWP, Schuylkill Co., PA on 31 Mar 1822. Johannes (John) died in Union TWP, Miami Co., IN on 4 Jun 1891, he was 69. Buried aft 4 Jun 1891 in Weasaw Cemetery, Union TWP, Miami Co., IN. Alterations to the building formerly occupied by the Gem theater, South Michigan street, began to-day. The building has been leased as a modern tailoring establishment, to be opened by the John Burroughs company, of which J. Henry de Lancey, formerly head cutter for Wm. Renfranx, will be the head. Mr. de Lancey is a graduate of Notre Dame university and for a number of years connected with Fith avenue and Broadway firms, in New York City.
