Reedy, 62, of 400 Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, died Friday at Pottsville Hospital. Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Placek Reedy. He attended Minersville Area schools. He worked at Mady Car Wash, Pottsville. He was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, the former Nancy Berkheiser; a daughter, Barbara Berkheiser, Schuylkill Haven; a brother, James Finnigan, Minersville; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment will be at the convenience of the family. James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc., Saint Clair, is in charge of arrangements. On 23 Jul 1911 when Alice was 43, she married Harry J. Francis, in Miami Co., IN. Alice was the daughter of: 2 Johannes (John) Berkheiser. Born on 28 Dec 1821 in S. Manheim TWP, Schuylkill Co., PA. Johannes (John) was baptized in St. Paul's Church, South Manheim TWP, Schuylkill Co., PA on 31 Mar 1822. Johannes (John) died in Union TWP, Miami Co., IN on 4 Jun 1891, he was 69. Buried aft 4 Jun 1891 in Weasaw Cemetery, Union TWP, Miami Co., IN. Occupation: Master Mason-Stone Mason in 1860. On 10 Oct 1842 when Johannes (John) was 20, he married Rebecca Margaretha (Margaret) Bressler, in Schuylkill Co., PA. 3 Rebecca Margaretha (Margaret) Bressler. Born on 25 Nov 1821 in Manheim TWP, Schuylkill Co., PA. Rebecca Margaretha (Margaret) was baptized in St. Paul's Church, South Manheim TWP, Schulykill Co., PA. Rebecca Margaretha (Margaret) died in her home near Weasaw, Union TWP, Miami Co., IN on 10 Jun 1903, she was 81. Buried on 12 Jun 1903 in Weasaw Cemetery, Union TWP, Miami Co., IN. NEWSPAPER TIDBITS Transcribed by Rick Berkheiser from St. Joseph Co., Indiana newspapers "The South Bend Weekly Tribune", Saturday, March 18, 1905, page 11 Bargain Still Open. S. C. Lentz is still willing to give some one a bargain in his farm in Liberty township if taken at once. This farm contains 129 acres, has about 25 acres of timber, a fine stream of water running throught it, eight room house, good barn and outbuildings. "The South Bend Tribune", Wednesday, August 23, 1911, page 5 CHILDREN PUBLISH PAPER. Chapin Park Weekly is Name of New Publication. A new newspaper, the Chapin Park Weekly, has made its appearance in South Bend, the second number of the publication being issued yesterday. The little daughters of W. W. Schneider, Virginia and Mary, of 816 Park avenue, are the publishers of the paper, using a typewriter instead of a press, and ordinary letter paper instead of print paper. The paper is written on both sides and contains personals and items of general interest to Chapin park people. It is distributed once a week and there is no subscription fee.
