We have since found out that our Burkey's came from Bavaria to Illinois, and from there moved on to Nebraska. There is a book called the Burkey, Burky, Birky Book written by a Ruth Burkey (I'm not sure of the exact spelling) that apparently documents most of the Burkey families that came to the U.S. I don't have a copy of it, but have seen sections of it.
