Copyright 2002. All rights reserved. Velma Parmer 1920-2003 Velma Marie Parmer, 82, of Cheyenne died Jan. 3 at St. Anthony's North Hospital in Westminster, Colo. She was born April 8, 1920, in Maquoketa, Iowa, and had lived here for 60 years. Mrs. Parmer was a member of First United Methodist Church, and she was a teacher and secretary at East High. She is survived by a son, Richard Parmer of Lovell; a daughter, Shriely Kline of Westminster; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Parmer, on Aug. 15, 1995; her parents, John and Sylvia Burkey; a brother, Denzel Burkey; and a sister, Dorothy Jenkins. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Janet Forbes officiating. Cremation will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Friends may contribute to First United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels. Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are. This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Parmer.
