Burkey family in Pennsylvania living in the Beaver and Allegheny County area in 1951. No family members named Charles. My family wants nothing from him but family history. You see my wife was adopted at birth. We have found her birth mother but not her father. My particular branch seem to have originated in Eire in the 1880's (Great Grandfather) but they were prolific breeders and they seem to have got everywhere both UK and abroad. If its any help, my Great Grandfather was one Jack Burkey who Married Julia Frances Cecila Sims Circa 1923 ish. He had siblings called (I believe,)Margaret,Elizabeth,and Arthur, and Ms Sims, by all accounts seems to have come from "queenstown" or "Durragh" in Eire. From the Jackson Co Cemetery Books I found John's death in Oct 1877 and Ann's deathdate as 7 Sep 1903 both in Jackson County. Also in the Burkey Bible it has Edgar's birth as 5 Feb 1866. Other researchers do have the middle name for Ann as Martha but since my husband grandmother wrote it as Matilda I left it as that. Hope this helps. If you ever find Edgar and Jennie let me know. He was the only son of Peter Howard Burkey and Laura Hopkins and the grandson of Effinger Hopkins and Ella Gaumer.
