    3. Does any one know the orgin of the last name? Far as which country it came from bc I've heard Wales, Germany, Norway, Austria I'm not sure if those are correct .. My dads family is from Ohio stubenville, my grandpa bill Burkey was married to Joann swiger they are in the west virgina area now. The good news is that members of OMII can still access these databases and the membership is only $6 a year. The Kidron database is worth the $6 by itself if you have Berkey/Burkey connections. And there are other, larger Anabaptist databases also. Contains information on the descendents of Joseph and Mary Burkey Birky, born in 1828 in Bavaria, Germany. His sons moved to America, originally to Butler County, Ohio, but then all settled in Tazewell County Illinois. Hope this helps to know there is a book out there...     2. Chad, Try your public library, they may have a subscription to Ancestry.com that can be accessed at the library for free. In the meantime, post what you know to this site ... somebody may be researching the same line. Make sure to include as many names, dates and places that you can. I myself have Burkey's in the Lebanon County, PA area.
