    3. Hello All, This may just be a couple of coincidences, but WILLIAM & EDWARD BURKE, my G-G-G-Grandfather and G-G-Grandfather respectively, were both (at least originally) tailors in a similar timeframe. Edward was born circa 1827 in Dublin. Edward had 'Tailor' listed as his occupation on joining the army in 1846. After his discharge in 1865 he and his family settled in Yorkshire and to cut a long story short (a 160 year story!) his descendants have been in the area ever since. Apart from William being listed as a Tailor on Edwards marriage certificate in 1854, the only thing I know about him is that he was no longer alive by that time. I would love to learn more about Edward and William and the rest of their family, so I'd really appreciate it if the original author of this information would contact me direct please, so we can share more detailed info. Also, could someone tell me what the reference to Yorkshire in the original info below, means please. Many Thanks in Advance Jon Burke -----Original Message----- From: burke-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:burke-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: 15 March 2007 16:13 To: BURKE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [BURKE] Andrew Burke (Tailor) b. 1836 Co.
