I'm writing because my Burke line emigrated from Ireland to Iowa c. 1848 and then to Kansas c. 1859. My great grandfather, Michael John (MJ) Burke, b. JAN 1,1812, Ballydugan, County Galway was a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin. MJ surveyed land in IA, MN, & KS. As you know, Kansas and Missouri are a stones throw and I thought perhaps we may find some related Burke family members. Do you know where in Ireland your Burke line originated from?
