It's time to try to find some cousins again - I do this about every six months or so. Maybe someone out there will recognize the names. If so, please contact me. Richard BURKE 1. Catherine BURKE m. James CUMMING They emigrated to Australia (or more likely were banished because of their political sympathies) No more heard from them. 2. James BURKE. Emigated to Australia. No more heard from him. 3. Thomas BURKE 4. Michael (or Thomas) BURKE b. 1810; d. 1887, Winona, MN; m. Mary WALSHE, daughter of William WALSHE and Mary KEARY. Michael BURKE settled in Oswego, NY. He first worked on repairs to the Erie Canal. Then purchased a farm and five more children were born. When the Civil War was ending they were intrigued by the offerd of free land in Minnesota and because Michael's brother Thomas had come to Minnesota in 1859. So in 1865 (April 17 arrived in Winona) the younger children accompanied them to Minnesota. In time they moved to a farm known as Summit Hill near Utica, Minnesota. a.
