BURKE, 86 HOLLAND, Penn. - John E. Burke, 86, of Holland, Penn., formerly of Worcester, died Sunday in Twining Village Health Care Center in Holland. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Gertrude (Carroll) Burke; a son, Dermot Burke of New Egypt, N.J.; two daughters, Diedra Clark of Fredericksburg, Va., and Alanna Burke of Santa Fe, N.M.; three sisters, Margaret and Catherine Burke, and Mrs. Earl Atchue, all of Worcester; and six grandchildren. He lived in Worcester for 65 years before moving to Holland. Before his retirement, he was a machinist at Crompton & Knowles Co. in Worcester for many years. He was a member of the United Steel Workers and various volunteer organizations for many years. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Cemetery Chapel in Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main St., New Egypt, N.J., is directing arrangements.
