    2. There is more than one ISHAM BURK in my files. This info will be on the one b. Amherst Co., VA RevWar Application S3095 Extracts: Son of John. Born Oct. 24, 1761, Amherst Co. VA When very young, moved with father from Virginia to SPARTANSBURG DIST, SC where he lived short time, then moved to WILKES CO, GA about 50-60 miles above Augusta. Volunteered 1778 Moved to SC, then LINCOLN CO, TN then McNAIRY CO. TN. Allowed pension at McNairy Co, 1833. (Note: this was copied abt. 1981; there may be more in the pension record than I have copied. AMHERST CO, VA Calendar of Tenn. & King's Mountain Papers, Vol. !!!, 1929 (Publication of State Historical society of Wisconsin -- DRAPER MANUSCRIPTS) 2DD431-438 Page 300 Pension statement: Entered service in company of Capt. John Burk, his father; stationed at Tillett's Station under command of Capt. Isaac Baldwin and Col. Stewart. Scouting service in Georgia 1778. Associated with Gen. Howe on his Florida expedition; secured captaincy from Gov. Howley of Georgia; joined Col. Andrew Pickens in attack on Tories at Kettle Creek; with Col. Henry Lee at siege of Augusta. Under command of Col. Clarke in expedition to Holston. (I have note here "copy 8 pages" but apparently I didn't copy those pages as they are not in my notebook. PPaulkovich) What I do have is about4 pages copied from another source. I will later extract from that and/or send copy of 4 pages snail mail to anyone very interested. I believe the other source was extracted from another RevWar application and I am a little puzzled about it; perhaps someone can help untangle. This indicates he went to Missouri.
