Sue, I have a Richard Burk from Warren Co., Tennessee. Is your line connected with the one listed in the 1830 Warren Co., Tennessee Census, p. 318? He was living next to his father-in-law, Moses James Wilder. My Richard Burk was b. March 25, 1786 in Baltimore, Maryland. Was in 1830 Warren Co., TN Census, moved to Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama, pg 192 by the 1840 Census and is found there in 1850 and 1860. Living Mississippi by 1880 with one of his sons (can't remember which one, think it was Isaac in Marshall Co.) when my ancestor, Moses Burk went to Alabama and got him because he had fell into bad health. Richard is believed to be the son of Joseph Burk or Baltimore, Maryland and had a brother named Isaac who settled and stayed in Illinois. I believe that Richard settled there first and may have migrated back and forth to IL and TN before finally settling in AL. Let me know if you see a possible connection.
