I am looking for any info on Nancy Burke, born in 1874 in Hughes Springs, Cass, TX. Her father's name is unknown, he was born in Georgia. Her mother's name was Eliza, she was born in Mississipi. Nancy married Marion Smith in Hughes Springs in 1889. She died sometime before 1905. Marion and Nancy had 4 children: Ornge, Ramie, Lavinia, and Elbert. My grandmother wrote down for me that somewhere in the family there is someone who was from Selma Alabama and was a dentist in the Union army during the Civil War. Apparently his brother fought for the Confederates. Although my grandmother said she thought this was about Marion Smith's father, she said it could possibly be about Nancy's father instead.
