My oldest known ancestor was Richard Burke (Birk) from MD, his father may have been Joseph...mother unknown. Richard was married to Barbara Wilder, her parents were Moses and Priscilia Crowman Wilder. Richard and Barbara's children were Joseph, Moses, Elizabeth, Cassandra, Mary Richard and Isaac Burke. Richard' s second wife was Mary Ann King Elliott, daughter of Vincent King, and widow of Archibald Elliott. My next Burke was Richard's son Moses Burke, born about 1820, who married Leditha Williams (supposedly Cherokee Indian) about 1842, their children were Elizabeth Martha, Mary Frances, Susan A, Permilla Cassandra, John C, Thomas E, Moses, Joseph Wyley, William Lewis, Sam, and Capatula Burke. Richard was from MD, not sure where he was born. He lived for a while in TN, lived in AL and when he was ill went to live in MS with his son Moses. Does anyone find any names familiar?
