Lewis BURKE was born about 12 January 1828 in Germany, married Christina KIEFER about 21 August 1864 in DeKalb County, IN. He died 22 March 1916 in Center Township, Marshall, IN and is buried at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, Marshall, IN. Christina died 22 August 1911 in Mishawaka, St. Joseph, IN. They had seven children, three females and four males. Lewis and Christina were divorced in St. Joseph County, IN. Their children were Anna (born about 1866), Benjamin (born about 4 July 1868, married Martha BUCHER [31 Oct 1896] died about 1957), Albert (born about 17 July 1868/69, married Lucelia FREED [about 1894/95], died about 1 June 1944), Ida (born about 1876, married Walter SIMONS), John (born about 1879), Helen (born about 23 March 1881, married Edward Edgar BROWN [26 June 1906], died 21 June 1952 in Evanston, Cook, IL and is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, Cook, IL), William (born 2 Jun 1876, married Georgina WATT [12 Oct 1905], died 20 March 1977 and is buried at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph, IN. This line is documented in the IGI.) I am tracing the Helen BURKE line as her marriage to E E BROWN produced two daughters, Ursula, still living and Jean (b. 25 Sept 1909, d. 11 Dec 1957). Helen divorced sometime in about 1910/11/12? Jean married John N. FETZER of North Liberty, St. Joseph, IN on 3 August 1932 in Chicago. They had 4 daughters all of whom are living.
