I have little on this line, so please bear with me. My great grandmother Mahaney, madien name Gavalir, had two sisters, Mary and Catherine. One of them married a Burke (unsure of spelling). I have no dates for Mary or Catherine. My great grandmother, Elizabeth Mary Gavalir Mahaney, also had a brother Joe Gavalir. Their parents were John Gavalir b. 1855 and Anna Dragos b. 1858. Both were born in Austria, according to family records. Elizabeth b. Jan 23 1896 Pittsburg Pa and d. 1977. John died in PA we believe. My mom remembers the Burkes to be some way connected with Anheuser-Busch in the old days.
