I am a Geneology Rookie! I am new to this list and the reason I joined this list is to help me find out more about the Burk Line in my family. I am 22 years old and live in New Mexico. When clearing out my grandmother's (Jesse Lee Burk) house after her death in 1993, we came across a Burk Family Birth List it is as follows: William Burk 21 September 1847 born in Arkansas Margaretta Burk 6 April 1844 Mary E. Burk 16 August 1867 William T. Burk 1 December 1869 John P. Burk 15 August 1873 Newton E. Burk 29 October 1876 died in Texas Sarah Ellen Burk 29 October 1876 Annie Dora Burk 4 January 1883 Jessie Lee Burk 22 November 1920 born in Texas Albert F. Burk 13 May 1924 born in Texas With just this information - there are some great leads on it but I do not know a lot of what the relationships are. Through my research of Birth Certificates, I have found out that the first William Burk (21 Sept 1847) is the father of Jessie Lee Burk (my grandmother) and Albert F. Burk. Hard to believe...but this is true! He was 79 at the time of Albert's birth. There is also a third child in this family that I cannot find any information on, except for the birth certificates of the other children. Any help with these names is so greatly appreciated!
