Hello Harold This information might be of no use at all to you, but I'll pass along what I know even though it is a stretch. There was a Piece Family who arrived North Carolina before the Revolution as indentured servants. Benjamin Franklin Pierce is the name that struck me, reading your message. His mother was a Franklin, I believe. He was born in the early 1800's in Sunbury, NC, served in the Civil War (South), and had a son named Franklin Pierce. A branch of the family emigrated to Texas after the Civil War, and little else is known about them. Their family used the mother's maiden name as the middle name of a son traditionally. Might not help you, but if you believe it might, the Nat'l Archived is where I cam across this information. There is also a web site for Sunbury NC which has genealogy connections to their records. I believe he was born in either Texas or Oklahoma about 1896. I know he was married to Helen Valentine. Their son, Harold, was born in Frederick, OK January, 1918. Frank and Helen were divorced before the 1920 census.
