Janet, About a month ago you sent the following message to the Burke list on Rootsweb. I could not fully understand it, but some of it caught my eye, and made me wonder if there might be a connection to one branch of my line. A Mary or Mollie Burke (b. 19 Mar 1841 in GA; d. 19 Jan 1892 in Kaufman Co. TX) was married to John Milton Dellis (b. 6 Oct 18212 in TN; d. 23 Jan, 1892 in Kaufman Co. TX); she was probably his second or third wife. She is called Mary in the 1870 census in Anderson Co. TX, and is called Mollie in the 1880 census in Kaufman Co. TX. In that 1880 census it indicates that both John's and Mollie's parents were born in TN; also living in the household with them was a brother-in-law named Joseph Burke, age 24, who was born in AR, whose father was born in TN and whose mother was born in AL. The similarity of the names Mollie and Joseph Burke, and the connections to GA and Anderson Co. TX, make me wonder whether they might be part of the same larger family of Burkes. What do you think?
