Hello, Bobby Wayne Burke's daughter. I am a Burke. I have more questions than answers, but the first place that I have found my Burke family was in Lincoln Co. North Carolina. Some of the family went from there to KY and some to GA. I cannot find them in 1850 anywhere. Later my grandpa's family went to Alabama where he married and raised a family. When my grandpa was 11 his dad died and his mother took her rather large family to Miss. to be near her sister and family. The first Burke ancestor that I am sure of is Bartlett Yancey Burke. His son Benjamin is my grandpa's dad. I have some names of my grandpa's brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts. Contact me if you want to see if we have any Burke connection. Glenda Burke

Howdy, Hae you researched Jenkins County, Georgia? There is quite a number of Burke's living there and they have been there for a couple of centuries. Do you have any names, birthdays etc. on your Burke that are traced to North Carolina? My folks are supposed to been in that area ca 1774. Oldest records I have found are in Russell County, VA. I am not related to the Georgia line as far as I know.
