Interested in contacting people and finding information on the Burke family from Tipperary, Ireland. William Burke (later spelling became Bourke in Australia) born c1858 at Ballengarry, Tipperary, Ireland. He may have come out with sister/sisters - year and boat, unknown. His father was William Burke who was married to Bridgit Quinn, all of Tipperary. William came to Australia some time in the 1870's. As far as is known he came to Rockhampton and was working as a labourer and bullock teamster in Western Queensland. His marriage was to Ellen Donovan, (also from Tipperary) in Rockhampton, 1881. He died ?1912, possibly in Brisbane. They had 7 children - being born in Rockhampton, Bowen, and Mareeba. Request by his grt grandson, Ron Lawson
