Someone recently wrote to the effect of: we connect.....email me privately and we can exchange information.... It seems to me that private exchanges of family history negate the whole purpose of being on a mail-list. And this list is inactive enough as it is, without taking good information off the list. Someone has lost an opportunity to maybe learn something new of the family for which they're searching. Perhaps even those engaged in private exchanges have lost out. The more people who see what info we have, the more possibility that there's someone who can add to the knowledge we already have. It works both ways.
