The fact that you are named Hugh caught my attention. I have a Hugh Burke born about 1830-1833 who named a son John. John was born in Ohio and in turn named a son Hugh. The names Hugh and John are prominent in this family. I have always wondered if maybe Hugh didn't have a brother John. I also think maybe he had one named Charles since Charles shows up a lot in the family. Rosalyn, The names Hugh and Charles don't seem to appear at all in 'my' Burke family (of Ballydugan, Co. Galway). The John who m. Laura Watson had an eldest brother Michael who d. in New Zealand 1869. Another, Arthur is said to have d. in Australia. Do we have any 'down under' members who might know more? Hugh
