I have been able to trace back to Patrick Francis Burke, born 1835 in Ireland. The stories that have been passed from generation to generation tell that he has been married twice. First to Bridget Nolan and second to Ann Chapman (b. 1845), the wife that I am interested in. Together Ann and Patrick had 11 children. Ann is a complete mystery to everyone who is researching this family. I am hoping someone would know of this family and be able to help us. Thanks Michelle

With such common names as Ellen Burke and her parents, John and Ellen, I'm having a very hard time sorting out who's who in the Haydenville/Williamsburg area. I haven't had any luck doing a search of the 1870 census. There is an Ellen Burke who is listed that was a servant, who COULD be my Ellen Burke, but I have no idea if she is. I wish I could tell you that your George Burke is part of my family, but at this point, I can't. Good luck with your search. If I come up with anything, I will definitely be posting again.
