    1. [BURKE] BURKE's in Pittsburg
    2. JOHN &SHELLY
    3. Hi List, I figured since we merged I'd repost my info maybe someone new will have something! I'm searching for BURKE's of Pittsburg. My info so far is sketchy, my great gram was Mary BURKE (very common, I know!) she was born abt 1902 in Pittsburg. Her father was Thomas BURKE, another common name. He had to have been born at least by 1880. I THINK he was married to a Matilda WAGNER but I know that he had a brother named Martin who was murdered in East Liberty Pittsburg during prohibition. Apparently they were bootlegging. The family also owned the first nickelodein (movie house) in Pittsburg as well as a bar/resturant named New Era. I believe that the father of Thomas and Martin was also named Martin and he was born in Ireland but not 100% sure. Any help greatly appreciated!! Shelly

    1. Re: [BURKE] ADMIN: List Management
    2. Yes! Please merge the lists. My ancestor William Burk b. 1748 had sons who used Burk, Burke, Bourk, AND Bourke. And I don't mean that each one chose one spelling or the other and stuck to it. Some of them switched back and forth during their own lifetimes. As far as I'm concerned, they're all the same name. Pat Riley
