    2. ALLAN BURKE
    3. Diane: How did you determine that James the "disinherited" family was living in Rowan NC. To me it is a big mystery as to what happened to him after he was disinherited. I have found land records in Frederick County Maryland, Where a James Burk(e) owned serveral tracts of land in the late 1700's. And he is also listed in the 1790 Censes. living in FRederick County Maryland. I also have Reveloutionary war records Where James Burk(e) served from Maryland and was wounded in the battle of Cowpens in South Carloina and recieved a pension. I have always felt that James the disinherited was my Grandfather, but I just don't have all the facts to prove it. I have a feeling that after he was disinherited he may well have started backtracking his familys footsteps and ended up in Maryland. Any help you can give me with this would be greatly appreciated. Allan Burke Diane Miller <dianermiller@suddenlink.net> wrote: Allan, thank you so much. So the John Burk that married Mary Cloud was the son of Benjamin Burk son of James Burk. John and Mary were married 11 Aug 1786 and my Samuel was born in Rowan Co., NC 1799/1800. Which just happens to be were the "disinherited son" James Burk's children were living at the time. My Samuel named his first son John. If Jane Cloud was the sister of Mary Cloud maybe their children married. This is worth a look anyway. Just have to find the children of John Burk and Mary Cloud. Before this over I am going to have data on every Burk that ever lived except the one I am looking for!!
