Was her husband John Burke, son of James? Or, is she Mary Eliot Burke, wife of Captain Ben Burke, who was involved with the Tories in South Carolina and was killed at the shallow ford of the Yadkin? (Dorman, VA. v20 pg. 44) #2. Mary Burke John Kendrick, Sr. died ca. 1800-1801 intestate leaving Thomas Kendrick; John Kendrick, Jr.; John Burke and his wife Mary living in Barren Co. KY; William Allen and his wife Rachel; and, Elizabeth Kendrick, his (John Kendrick Sr.) wife and widow. (John Burke and Mary were still on the Tax List in Barren Co. KY in the 1840's.) John Granville Burke was born May 1828 in KY. He died sometime between the first of May and June 15, 1900, in Wayne Co. KY. He is buried in the Burke Cemetery in Wayne Co. KY. Burke was born October 19, 1905, in Wayne Co. KY and died April 28, 1969 in Scott Co. TN. I am researching Burkes from Neshoba County. Stephen G Burkes ans Mary Adcock were listed in 1870 Beat 5 Neshoba County and 1880 Attala County around Zama.Stephen had 2 brothers(known)Silas who married Martha Woodall and is buried at Providence, and John W who married Annie Brezeale and is buried at Tabernacle beside Stephen. Family story has it that their father died in Kemper County in 1845-1850 or so. Buried in a family cemetary not at a church. His wife remarried and moved on to Neshoba County and is buried in the city cemetary. Stephen was living as a laborer on a Johnson's farm in 1860 not far from Sam Adcock's family. There is also another Burkes (Harrison J )living nearby. All 3 Burkes served in the 40th Co G during the Cival War. Stephen, Silas, and John were in Neshoba County in 1870.I can find no record of Harrison J. However, children and mother with same name and birthdays were listed with Sam and Huldah Adcock in 1870.Mother's name was Martha.and listed as Sam and Huldah's daughter. Stephen, Silas, and John all moved to Attala County before 1890.Stephen's children were Stephen Samuelson(Emily Victoria Burnley), Mary, Martha,Jane(Robert E Jones),Nancy(Harvey Hester),Huldah(Bill Fleming), Silas(Mollie Bailey) and James (Sarah Yates,later married to a Jennings).Silas had several children most of whom never married. Hi, I am trying to find Augustas Burke. It's hard to believe with all the Burke's out there that none of them have an Augustas in their line. He was married to Susie Lucas, they lived in Masonville,N.Y. when their son William Bruce was born in 1878. I don't know if there were any other children. I believe they lived in Broome county later. The Bible belonged to Daniel Burke who married Helen Wright April 16, 1867. Their births were recorded as 1842 and 1843. Their three children's births are recorded as 1868, 1870 and 1872. Their daughter died in 1881. Daniel Burke, father, died in 1898. No death mention of Helen. There are a few artifacts in the Bible such as an obituary, some pressed flowers and only little markers. On the obituary, it is listed Lansing. No mention of State. The obituary is naming a Hubbard Family son's death in 1891. All artifacts will be left with the Bible, their resting place for many years.
