anderson and elmira burk lived in adair co. 1860-1880"s. their children were james w., william p. amanda, margaret, cage, joseph, and wesley burk. they were born in late 1840-1860. i know about amanda, cage, and joseph. but can't hook up with others. i do know that wesley a. burk married mary j. I am looking for any info on Nancy Burke, born in 1874 in Hughes Springs, Cass, TX. Her father's name is unknown, he was born in Georgia. Her mother's name was Eliza, she was born in Mississipi. Nancy married Marion Smith in Hughes Springs in 1889. She died sometime before 1905. Marion and Nancy had 4 children: Ornge, Ramie, Lavinia, and Elbert. My grandmother wrote down for me that somewhere in the family there is someone who was from Selma Alabama and was a dentist in the Union army during the Civil War. Apparently his brother fought for the Confederates. Although my grandmother said she thought this was about Marion Smith's father, she said it could possibly be about Nancy's father instead. I am looking for any information on a John Burke who married a Flora Hrye(could be spelled different) from what I was told they lived in southern Illinois. My oldest known ancestor was Richard Burke (Birk) from MD, his father may have been Joseph...mother unknown. Richard was married to Barbara Wilder, her parents were Moses and Priscilia Crowman Wilder. Richard and Barbara's children were Joseph, Moses, Elizabeth, Cassandra, Mary Richard and Isaac Burke. Richard' s second wife was Mary Ann King Elliott, daughter of Vincent King, and widow of Archibald Elliott. My next Burke was Richard's son Moses Burke, born about 1820, who married Leditha Williams (supposedly Cherokee Indian) about 1842, their children were Elizabeth Martha, Mary Frances, Susan A, Permilla Cassandra, John C, Thomas E, Moses, Joseph Wyley, William Lewis, Sam, and Capatula Burke. Richard was from MD, not sure where he was born. He lived for a while in TN, lived in AL and when he was ill went to live in MS with his son Moses. Does anyone find any names familiar?

IM looking for Stephen A. Burke born 1879 in Emerson, MO. Marion County. The 1880 census shows that he was living with his mother and grand parents Margie and George (Gio) Kennedy. Abstract from "Mount Carmel Ledger" Mr. Martin BURKE and Miss Mary M. HALE were wedded in St. Josephs Catholic Church in Locust Gap on Wed. Oct.12,1893. Mr John CURLEY acted as groomsman and Miss Bridget BURKE was maid of honor. Rev. W.J.
