She was the one related to Burgert and I was able to send her a great deal of info. She wrote me again in April of this year about other names, Letts and Jones. The above is from the 11/2004 letter. Don't know if this is still a good address or not. I had saved all my research correspondence for several years and about a year ago, I bought a new desk and cleaned house and got rid of all the paperwork on everyone I had done research for. I have enough on my own family! But I did just go through my files to see if I had kept anything and checked my address book and old sent mail. Unfortunately, found nothing. I got a new PC in 2008 and did a major cleanout then, so I have no further info. I think I would try the AHM27@AOL.com. I just sent a note from my AOL address and it did not bounce back, so maybe it is a good address and Jean will contact me and then I can put you in touch. Good luck, AnneMarie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I was hoping that I might possibly be able to learn more about this "Jean" mentioned and whether you might remember the last name, or have it in old records somewhere, possibily with an address or contact of some sort. There were two Jean's in Burgert history; one of the six Burgert brothers, Jean Everett Burgert who died in Florida in 1968,and his niece Jean Evelyn, daughter of Alfred Paul Burgert, brother to Jean, and she died even earlier in 1936. If I could locate this Jean ... he or she might be family and have a treasure of old family info at this point. Do you remember what city he or she lived in by any chance and/or a last name? Again, any additional information would be greatly appreciated. There were more family members who were left in the Hamilton/Cincinnati area in the early 1880's when the SP Burgert family moved from Hamilton to first Jacksonville for a few years before again relocating to Tampa. Thanks so much ... Hal Burgert III Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I don't remember what I sent her, but the local newspaper printed the article that I posted in the first Ancestry message in 2004. Figured someone was looking for this family. But I am not related, just doing a good deed! I have looked at a great deal of the Burgert pictures at the local library and have looked through many of the books on Tampa history and there is a great deal of information. In Dec. 2005 my grandson, #8, was born and I have watched him for the past 4 years, so I haven't had time to do much research even for myself. And 5 weeks from today, we leave on an extended vacation, so will be out of touch. Some info I did have. http://www.southernspaces.org/contents/2009/leblanc/1b.htm. Burgert bought out Fishbaugh in 1917. I do have some grave marker pictures of Wm Fishbaugh but nothing on Burgert. If there are sepcific questions, I might be able to get to the library in the next few weeks and see what I can find for you. I have been researching them for almost 20 years now. The patriarch of the Burgert clan, was Samuel Peter Burgert, born 1840, Cincinnati, Ohio and was my gg grandfather. I am still trying to identify his parents who were allegedly born in Alsace, Germany. I know that a Peter Burgert who is listed in the 1862 Cincinnati City Directory as Dagerrean artist, which is the early photographic process that Samuael, aka Simon Peter Burgert began his photographic career as, is part of the family who remained in Ohio, and was in business with David Kruger who married Mary Burgert, Samuel's sister. Still trying to connect the dots ... Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
