Hi I'm interested in learning more and sharing information about the Burges in South Carolina during the late 1700 and early 1800s, in particular, Burrell, Richard, and Jeremiah Burge and their families. This is my line: Nancy (Burge) Duke, b. 1776-1783, SC, d. 1850, MS, Burrell B. Duke, b. 1816, SC, d. before 1900 Martain H. Duke, b. 1845, AL, d. 1913, OK Alonzo H. Duke, b. 1880, MS, d. 1956, OK Marion L. Duke, b. 1805, IT, d. 1978, OK Tony L. Cox (me) I believe Nancy Burge to be the daughter of Burrell Burge, d. bef. July 17, 1797, SC. She selected Richard Burge as her guardian about the same time as the appraisal of the Burrell Burge estate was returned. This places her between the ages of 14 and 21, October 1797. Burrell's children under the age of 14, January 1801, were Green, Berryman, Keziah Ford, Burrell Gardner Ford Burge. Some questions I'm trying to answer: 1. Are Richard, Jeremiah and Burwell Burge, listed in the Halifax District, Nash County, NC 1790 census, the SC Burges? 2. Was Elizabeth (Ford???) Burrell Burge's first or second wife? 3. What are the names of Burrell's older children. 4. Who is the Richard Burg listed in the Charleston District, St. Stephens, SC 1790 census Have a great day! Tony Cox Coweta, OK
