I will attempt to give you a starter now and will send more later. Most of the information that I have on this family came from the Neil Arrington File located at the Illinois State Archives in Springfield. There are two big boxes of his research papers there. I would like to be able to go and search through them again. He was the grandson of James Shirley Burge, great grandson of Elisha. Elisha-Elijah Burge born 10-2-l819, Tenn., died 9-23-1873, Marion Co. Ill. Mary Landrum Purdue born 1-13-1822, Tenn. died 3-8-1910, Marion Co. Ill. mar. 5-21-1840, son of Richard Burge and Ann (Amy) Burge, nee Amy Bird. He was born ca 1774 and she was born ca 1776. Richard Burge, Sr. was son of Richard And Frances Burge born ca 1755, and died after 1805, probably in Warren Co.
