I have been assisting an acquaintance whose relative is Ellen Condon Barrett. I think I have been able to put together some of the Burgan tree. They start in Ohio, move to Iowa, from which Charles and George, brothers, join the Union Army to fight in the Civil War. Charles already had his son George S with a wife who I only find in 1870. By 1880 Charles and son George S are in Missouri working in a mill. Next in 1900 I see Charles married to a much younger woman, and with 5 new children. I am certain it is the same Charles Burgan as the Civil War records connect him back to Iowa and Ohio. I was out to Mount Greenwood Cemetery where George, Ellen and Charles are buried in graves without tombstones. I have some of the people on my Ancestry page, under the Garrison tree. The Garrisons are not related to the Burgans -- I just needed a place to put them since the Burgans belong to my acquaintance, not me.
