I am searching for the ancestors of my 3rd great-grandmother, Luvina Burch (Mrs. Charles Shaver), who was born September 19th or 24th, 1801 in New York state, and died July 17, 1845 in or near Plymouth, Richland County, Ohio. Her husband's family (the Shavers) had lived in Ulster County, New York and moved to Cayuga County, New York by the 1820's. It is probably here that Luvina Burch met and married Charles Shaver since their first child, Charlotte, was born about December 24, 1819. Luvina and Charles had 9 other children, some being born in Plymouth, Ohio: Hannah (born Jan. 2, 1822); Franklin (born about Dec. 6, 1823); Delilah Shaver Clark (born about 1829); Effalina Shaver Clark (born Oct.18, 1832); Louvina Shaver Bevier Clark (born Nov. 2, 1834); John (born after March 10, 1835); Calista Shaver Packer; Jane Shaver Barnes; and Mary Shaver Castor. There was a David Burch family living in Cayuga County, NY about 1816 who had a daughter named "Lavinia" with a different married name, according to his will, but it doesn't appear to be the same person. Thank you for any help in locating the parents and family of Luvina Burch Shaver. Sincerely, Robert Heisler [email protected]
