Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3gG.2ACEB/978.1 Message Board Post: Joseph II's second wife was Gilly Willcox, their children: Alfred Littlebury Burch b: 6 May 1811 in Montgomery, GA Sarah Burch b: abt 1803 in Richmond, GA Gilley Burch b: abt 1805 in Richmond, GA John Burch b: abt 1808 in Montgomery, GA Nellie Burch b: abt 1817 in Richmond, GA Henry Burch b: 1806 in Montgomery, GA Elanor Burch b: 1818 in Richmond, GA This is according to the Currie-Beavers Family of Georgia http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com ******** According to "Birch, Burch Family in Great Britain and America, Vol II by Marilu Burch Smallwood: pg 65: "Henry Burch was born in 1806 or 1807, in Montgomery County, GA, and was living there, (aged 43), at the "1850 Census." His parents were: Joseph Burch II, Revolutionary Soldier, who was killed by the Indians in Irwin County, Georgia, in the spring of 1818; and last wife Gilley Willcox, or Miss Gilley. Henry Burch married in Montgomery Co., GA, April 25 1835 Aleithia Buchanan, called "Leatha" or Leathy." pg 86: "Nellie Burch was born about 1816 or 1817, thought she is listed in "1850 Census" as being "30 years" old. This would have made her birth date in 1820, which was impossible. . . . Nellie married Benjamin Guest (or Guess), about the year 1839, probably." pg 88-9: "Eleanor burch (called Ellen) was born in Montgomery County, Georgia, in 1818, probably after her father's death. She was living in Montgomery County, Georgia at the 1850 census, with two sons." . . . . The author has been unable to find anything concerning the death of Joseph Burch's last wife. She must have died when her daughter Eleanor was a few years old, for Eleanor went, when a small child, to live with theJames Alston family in Monroe county, GA, and remained with them until she married. . . . Eleanor Burch, born 1818, married in Monroe County, Georgia, January 7, 1836 Benjamin Franklin fuller, who evidently died in Early County, GA prior to Aug. 27, 1850, when the census was made."
