Burch, 88, 9219 Sidehill Road, North East, died on Sat., November 22, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born March 24, 1920 in North East, daughter of the late Clayton C. and Marie Larsen Boyd. She was a lifetime resident of North East. She graduated from North East High School in 1938 and The Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She worked as a private duty registered nurse and worked on the family farm for many years. A woman of faith she enjoyed being an inspiration to others. Elizabeth was a member of the Wesleyville Baptist Church. She was active in American Baptist woman's missionary association, former deaconess and Sunday school teacher. She served on the founding boards of the North East High School Scholarship Fund and the Community Nurses of North East. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and at Conrad House. Her life centered around her family and her chur! ch and the joy they brought to her. She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband James C. Burch whom she married April 9, 1942. Brothers: Robert Boyd and Lawrence Boyd. Survivors include a son Douglas J. Burch and his wife Jean and a daughter Catherine M. McClure and her husband Alan of North East. A foreign exchange daughter Anne Gerrard Zoet and husband Craig of Anchorage, Alaska and Australia. Seven Grandchildren, Timothy Burch and wife Lee, Michele Burch Mayes and husband Scott, of North East, Kristen McClure Northrup and husband Dan of Dripping Springs, Texas, Tadd Burch and wife Allison, of North East, Thomas McClure and wife Jennifer of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Melinda Burch Cunningham and husband Cuyler of North East, and Sara McClure of Bethlehem, Pa. Fourteen great grandchildren, a sisterï·"inï·"law, Esther Eades Boyd of Grove City, Pa., several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 Lake Street., North East on Monday 7-9! and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Further visitation will be on Wed. from 10 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Wesleyville Baptist Church, 3509 Buffalo Road. Rev. Mark McCallon will officiate. Interment in North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wesleyville Baptist Church, 3509 Buffalo Road, Erie, 16510, North East Public School Scholarship Fund.
