The death certificate of James Merritt DONNELLY (b 1838 in VT or NY) who died in Oklahoma in 1922 indicated that his parents were John DONNELLY and Louisa BURCH. I have been researching the James Donnelly family and I don't think his mother was Louisa BURCH (I think she was Catharine DUNLAP from Washington Co, NY; lived in Ashland Co/Knox Co OH about 1843-1888; probably in one John Donnelly family in 1840 census of Washington Co, NY). However, there must be a BURCH somewhere in his ancestry. I am having trouble finding evidence of this Louisa Burch, especially since John Donnelly died prior to 1850. Census records of James Donnelly indicated that both his parents were born in VT or NY. I think it's possible that Louisa BURCH was a grandmother to James Donnelly but I am having trouble locating sources. Thank you for any help. Jen
