Much of it seems contradictory or not feasible. The Littleberry I'm looking for was the father of Seaborn Wright Burch born in 1830 in Montgomery County, Georgia. His father Littleberry Burch (L.B. Birch) was listed as head of household in the 1850 census in Burke County. His age was listed as 65 and living with him were sons Seaborn and William. Also in the household were an Edwin J. Birch (age 6) and a Jane E. Birch (age 36). I assume Jane and Edwin were William's wife and son (or perhaps Littleberry's wife and son??). I know Littleberry had a daughter named Purcy who married Izatus Jenkins. The 1850 census shows her living with her husband and children and lists her age as 44, so she was born about 1806. However, most genealogies I have seen on-line state that Littleberry died in April 1843 but this was obviously not the case. Also, he is referred to as the son of Charles Burch and the grandson of Joseph Burch. Since Littleberry would have had to be born no later than about 1885, it appears to me that he was too old to have been the son of Charles who was probably born between 1774 and 1779. Also, there is a great deal of confusion regarding the number of wives Littleberry had, their names, and the names of the children by each. Does any one have any sources which would clear any of this up for me. The more information I find the more confused it gets. For example, if you look at some of the genealogies for Charles Burch, he seemed to have children simultaneously by two different wives, and even had a child or two after his documented death in 1811.
