I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ruby FLETCHER HOIT taken at the Weston Studio in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine. I believe this is a photograph of Ruby M. FLETCHER b. 11 May 1874 at Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine at 18 years of age taken in 1892 just prior to her 17 Aug 1895 marriage to Charles B. HOIT of Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine. Ruby M. FLETCHER's parents were Pillsbury C. FLETCHER and Hellen M. BURCH. On the reverse of the photograph is written the name "Mrs. Fred PARSONS" which may refer to Gertie E. FLETCHER who married Fred M. PARSONS in Civil, Penobscot, Maine on 1 Mar 1888. I'm assuming that this is a FLETCHER relative of Ruby's who was given the photograph, maybe Ruby's aunt or cousin. Not sure there is a connection, however, I also obtained a photograph of Mrs. Frances HALEY taken in Portland, Maine from the same source. I mention it just in case there is a recognized connection between these family names. I'm hoping to find Ruby's family and return the photograph to the family so that it can once again become the cherished family possession that it should be, however, to date I've been unable to locate any family.
