    3. Hello, everyone! It¹s been a while since I¹ve posted anything on these boards, but I¹m updating my web site and decided I¹d better do a little more research to try and figure out just what¹s going on here. Here¹s the line in question: James HARRELL, the son of Lewis HARRELL Sr. and Sarah PERKINS, was b. in 1790, probably in South Carolina. He married 15 Jan 1815 in SC Mary Hollingsworth (or Hollandsworth) BURCH, b. 19 Aug 1799 in Mt. Croghan, Chesterfield co., SC. They had four children: 1. James Burch HARRELL, b. 21 Nov 1816. 2. Joseph Lewis HARRELL, b. 4 Nov 1818. 3. Elizabeth Thomas HARRELL, b. 13 May 1820 SC. 4. Sarah Ann Perkins HARRELL, b. 11 Feb 1822. So here¹s where it gets complicated: I have one source saying that James Burch HARRELL died as a young child, but family records state that my gg-grandmother, Elizabeth T. HARRELL (b.1 Mar 1842 SC) had an older brother named Joseph HARRELL and a younger sister named Sarah Perkins HARRELL, and that their father, James HARRELL, was the son of Mary H. BURCH, born about 1818. Can anyone put all this together? It seems obvious to me that there are two different families here, each with a Joseph, Elizabeth, and Sarah; however, if James Burch HARRELL died young, does this mean that our family records have a misprint? Is Joseph Lewis HARRELL the father of the latter family? Thanks in advance, Jeff Drake -- http://homepage.mac.com/familyhistory (forever under construction)
