(A Family Archive Image at the Genealogy.com Website) The information was collected by a Miss Lydia Melinda Earl, Attica,Fountain County, Indiana. She simply stated that Thomas Birch (Burch) married first to ______ Clark, an Indian. There was no documentary evidence supplied for this claim that Clark was an Indian. I have considered this claim to be false because there was no proof supplied. There were many Clark families in Prince George's County, Maryland, that were non-Indian during the time when Thomas Burch lived there. While it is alway possible that Clark was an Indian, I have seen no evidence to support this undocumented claim. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
