    1. [BURCH-L] Leonard Burch/NY/Ontario, Canada
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Burch, Barge, Chesterfield, Buhr Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3gG.2ACEB/963 Message Board Post: Western NY Burch connection. Elizabeth and Walter Burch (buried in Niagara Falls, Canada) had I believe 15 children, some of course did not survive. Leonard was one of their sons. He married my grandmother, Frances Barge of Niagara Falls, NY and produced one child, my mother, Dorothy(born 1916). Dorothy married Charles Chesterfield. They had 3 children. Leonard and my grandmother were divorced when my mother was about 3 years old. He was last known to be in Ohio. One of his brothers, Aaron, was reportedly a doctor in New Jersey/New York area. We never spoke about Leonard. My grandmother remarried and I only knew my "step" grandfather. Now, as my husband and I are getting deeper into our geneology hobby, Leonard is an important part of my lineage. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3gG.2ACEB/611.614.643.1 Message Board Post: I'm not sure if there is any link here, but my grandmother's (Frances Barge) first marriage was to Leonard Burch of the Niagara Falls, NY area. He had a brother who became a doctor and moved to NJ I believe. Leonard himself left after the divorce (when my mother was 3--about 1920) and was last known to be somewhere in Ohio, but probably deceased now. His parents, Walter and Elizabeth are buried in a cemetery in Niagara Falls, Canada. Apparently there was quite a Canadian connection. Hope this might help.

Daniel Birch had a son, Colburn who migrated to Ohio area... I don't know of any who ended up in NC, thought that is a natural migration route. It might be worth your time to start with Daniel Birch (1750) sons and see where that leads you. James stayed in MD/VA.

We've been researching our Burch ancestry for several years, but are at the proverbial "brick wall". Our grandfather was Enoch Arden BURCH (1867-1951), who married Anna Marie FUCHS (1871-1941). They had 11 children, of whom 7 lived to maturity, all born in Missouri. Two sons were named Leslie (1885-1966) and Joseph (1903-1970). Do you know whether our families could be related? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Art Burch
