I do not know her birth date or anything else. She was a daughter to Berrian and Martha (White) Burch. Berrian is a son to Henry and Aleithia (Buchanan). Henry is a son of Joseph II and I believe Gilly Wilcox.

Joseph Burch Sr. who married Jane Todd died in Duplin County in 1765. His son Joseph II born possibly Maryland in 1758, Jane Todd was from Toddburg Maryland. Anyway Josoph II moved first to Montgomery, County Ga. then to Richmond County Ga., and finally Dodge County Ga. His descendants later settled in Laurens County Ga. Joseph II had a grandson named William but I am not certain who he married. I will have to look in Hart's History of Laurens County Georgia to see if his wife is mentioned. He may have been the one which married a sister of my grandmother's paternal grandfather Mary Emily Gay. Le

She was probably one of the few who stayed close to Surry Co NC. They lived in Patrick Co VA. Harris and Ritter were the 2 wives of William Burch, son of William and Mary Ann. I don't have any info on th group either except for names and dates but others do or so I have been told.

Thank You Debbie >> Hello Debbie, Just wanted you to know that there was no town of Haw River in 1764; there was an area referred to as Hawfields of Orange County, NC, through which the Haw River flows, which is where many of the early settlers found land attractive to them. This Hawfields(named for the Haw Indians) is in what is now Alamance County, NC, but very near to Hillsborough and Chapel Hill, NC. Orange County had been established in 1752, just a scant 12 years before your Burch ancestor was born. I looked to see if there were any possibility that a record of your William Burch's birth or baptism could be found in a church record, but the Hawfields Presbyterian Church did not hold its first meeting until 5 September 1770. Any records such as land records, wills, etc. would be housed under the Orange County records, most of which are found in the State Archives, Jones Street, Raleigh, NC. There were lots of Burches who settled in the part of Old Orange County, which became Caswell in 1777; some of whom ended up in another division of Caswell to form Person County, NC in 1792.
