I am slowly eliminating Ann Burch as a lead in my search. That is not terrible as I will eliminate one source for Cassandra Burch, b 1778 in MD and go on to another. Assistance is greatly appreciated.

He is known to most of us as William Jr. He is the son of William Burch and Mary Ann (some say Lawrence). He was born on the Haw River which lies somewhere along Guilford county and never reaches the northwest corner of the state where he ended up as a young man. He married first Morning (or Mourning) Harris sometime before 1799. He married Elizabeth Ritter on Apr 2, 1812. He left home and joined the Revolution as a teenager and there is a pension record for him under the spelling of Berch. I have parents, siblings, and descendants if you will contact me via email at [email protected] Also there are several versions of his family tree on Family Treemaker discs. Regards, Lee

He was a son of Newton and was my grandfather. He died in 1958 when I was 10. Grandmother (Emily) Burch died in 1978. We were very close and I remember her fondly.

As Admin, I am going in to clean up the Burch Message Board, particularly two long winding threads. Because of the way the search engine is set up, I have to do the following: 1. clean up surname lines, to add missing surnames and remove surnames that are NOT in message itself at all. The states are to be in subject line and NOT in surname line. 2. retype the surnames to that they are NOT all CAPS or all small but Burch, Oliphant so forth for effective pick up by search engines. The messages themselves are not editable. Please remember the specifics when you post a new message or post a reply. You can alter the subject line when you post a reply. W. You say you are only 15 and from Ireland. My father's people also came from Ireland in the early 1800's and that is a place I have always dreamed of visiting. Also Switzerland as I think that sounds like an interesting place too. I have grandchildren your age and we have fun when we get together. Maybe we are distant relatives and just don't know it. Wouldn't that be a coincidence? Good talking to you. Lou
